Final Friends Invitation for 10-01-26.png

Our Biggest Night of the Year is Coming!

.

Please join us for our annual Friends fundraiser on Thursday, October 1, 2026, where every dollar raised directly supports our museum's mission.

This fun-filled evening features live music by Chris Nash, delicious hors d'oeuvres by Sarah Gore Catering, and a special presentation by Dr. Adrian Smith, an acclaimed slow-motion insect videographer.

Smith is the head of the Insect Behavior Research Lab at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh and a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences at N.C. State.

He is widely known for his incredible, super slow motion videos of insects in action, which he’ll feature at the event. He also is the creator of the popular YouTube channel Ant Lab and a regular contributor to the PBS-NC show SciNC.

The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the museum at 415 S. Madison St.

Tickets are $50, with proceeds going to support programs at the museum. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beer and wine will be served.
